# Calamity.live > Real-time multi-hazard monitoring: 16 disaster types, aggregated from > scientific and civil-protection sources, with one comparable severity score > and a public archive. ## What this site is Calamity.live collects hazard reports from official monitoring agencies, deduplicates them across sources, and publishes one page per event with the data that produced it. Every figure on an event page names the source that measured it. The one index of our own that looks ahead is the Calamity Forecast Index on /forecast: a model of recorded activity, uncalibrated and labelled as ours. The numbers below were read from the archive at 2026-10-14 18:14 UTC and are kept honest rather than round. Each says what it counts. - **243** fetchers registered, **80** enabled (what we ask), **unreadable right now** whose fetch returned at least one event today (UTC), **unreadable right now** that added at least one new record to the archive in the last 24 hours. The gap is real: many upstream feeds are seasonal, quiet, or broken, and this file will not pretend otherwise. - **unreadable right now** rows in the archive, collected live since **unreadable right now**; the last daily snapshot counted **3,643** live events. - A separate historical layer of satellite fire detections back to February 2024, used only as context for comparison; those rows have no pages. - 16 hazard types: earthquake, wildfire, cyclone, tsunami, volcano, flood, river flood, landslide, avalanche, drought, disease, radiation, air quality, solar storm, asteroid, severe weather. ## Pages - [All events](https://calamity.live/events) — the archive, filterable - [Today](https://calamity.live/today) — the last 24 hours - [Hazard hubs](https://calamity.live/disasters/earthquake) — one per type, e.g. /disasters/wildfire - [Regions](https://calamity.live/region) — by country, then by administrative unit - [Methodology](https://calamity.live/methodology) — how CalamityScore is computed and what it is not - [Glossary](https://calamity.live/glossary) — what each word on an event page means, and what we do not measure - [Monitoring room](https://calamity.live/monitor) — any point on Earth, with the query behind every number - [About](https://calamity.live/about) — who runs this and which sources it uses - [API documentation](https://calamity.live/docs) - [Learn](https://calamity.live/learn) — background articles on hazard science An individual event lives at `/event/{id}/{slug}`, in eleven languages (`/it/event/…`, `/ja/event/…`, …). ## API Base URL: https://calamity.live/api/v1 · [OpenAPI spec](https://calamity.live/api/openapi.json) Reading needs no key and no registration. Limit: 60 requests a minute per IP. - [GET /api/v1/events](https://calamity.live/api/v1/events) — live events, with type, severity, bbox and minScore filters - GET /api/v1/events/:id — one live event - [GET /api/v1/cascades](https://calamity.live/api/v1/cascades) — hazard chains grouped by trigger - [GET /api/v1/stats](https://calamity.live/api/v1/stats) — counts by type and severity - GET /api/v1/stats/region/:code — one country: archive records of the last 7 and 30 days - [GET /api/v1/archive](https://calamity.live/api/v1/archive) — the archive, paginated - [GET /api/v1/health](https://calamity.live/api/v1/health) — the collector and the source census, with definitions - [GET /api/v2/bulk-export](https://calamity.live/api/v2/bulk-export) — bulk rows, 10,000 a call, paginated - [GET /api/v2/cap](https://calamity.live/api/v2/cap) — the live feed as CAP 1.2 XML Export formats: `/api/export?format=geojson`, `?format=csv`, `?format=kml`. ## CalamityScore A 0-100 composite: intensity 40 %, population exposure 30 %, cascading risk 20 %, historical context 10 %. It is **ours**, not the issuing agency's, and every page that shows it says so, together with the version of the rules it was computed under. It is calibrated for comparison across types and is not an official severity classification. Cascade detection applies 20 documented hazard-interaction rules (Gill & Malamud 2014; Keefer 1984; Kanamori 1972). No probability is published for a chain: the engine's ranking is model output, not an observed frequency. ## Licensing and citation Source data carries the licences of the issuing agencies; the aggregation, scoring and archive are ours and are released under CC BY 4.0.
